Even though race dates and locations are still being developed for the Children in Need events, you will shortly be able to raise sponsorship for Children in Need through our web-site. Let’s see which County raises the most money!
Pending confirmation from the organisers of Children in Need, it is hoped that the Relentless race will conclude in the TV studios and a cheque for all the money raised will be presented by the Elite finishers at this time.

Relentless is also split into five Mega-Ultra categories of 300 miles each. These can be entered as an Individual or as a Team.
Relentless is further split into thirty days, each day representing a unique ultra event which can again be entered as an Individual or as a Team.
Competitors can choose to enter one or more of the stage events or take on the complete challenge.
The length of the course is very challenging and for competitors own safety and fairness the following rules must be adhered to. Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification from this and future events.

Teams of minimum 2, up to a maximum of 7 can enter, but only one person in a team can be a designated runner on any of the days; the rest of their team can offer support or take time out. A competing team can drop a category but only if the previous completed stages have all been run by designated runners remaining in the team. Once the race commences, the teams cannot be amended.

Team Entrants:

The Event

Relentless is organised by Ultra Running Limited and is open to runners, walkers, and teams of two or more. All entrants must be 18 years of age or over at the start of the race. Each competitor must ensure that they carry with them all of their individual requirements needed to complete the race.
Every entrant must confirm that they have read these rules and other event information and therefore understand the nature of the event and that participation is at their own risk.

Race Entries

Competitors must register at each stages respective start location at least one hour before the start of the race and present their kit for examination on request. Race start is 7:30am.

Each participant will be given a race number which must be clearly attached by safety pins to the front chest. If this is not clearly visible you may be delayed at checkpoints.

Teams must have pre-registered before the day and consist of at least two competitors who will also count as individual competitors amongst the rankings. For a Team to successfully complete the race, all sections of the course must have been completed during race time by at least two members of the Team.

Competitors must be self-sufficient, and carry the following mandatory items:

a. Backpack or equivalent
b. Head Torch with spare batteries
c. OS Map for their route
d. Compass or GPS device
e. Whistle
f. Mobile phone
g. Emergency food pack consisting of two chocolate bars, Mars or similar
h. First Aid Kit

Checkpoints and Water Stations

Relentless is a totally self-sufficient race with the exception of water supply. Water stations are located at all checkpoints at pre-determined points along the race.

Competitors must go through all check points and it is their sole responsibility to ensure that the check point attendant has recorded their race number; failure to do so at any check point will mean the competitor has failed to complete the race and will be disqualified.

Any competitor found to not follow the pre-determined race route will be disqualified.

Competitor Retirement

If any competitor has to retire for whatever reason they must contact the race organisers immediately, either by advising a checkpoint attendant or telephoning the emergency number given at the start of the race. The emergency number will also be texted to each competitor before race day.

Time Restraints

The Relentless races are incredibly demanding and few athletes will have the fitness or resolve to complete the course. As such Ultra Running will pre-set cut-off times along the route, purely for Health & Safety purposes. In addition, if Ultra Running or any of its representatives deem for any reason that a competitor should not continue, Ultra Running Limited’s decision will be final.

Accommodation

Elite competitors will be provided with free use of tenting facilities at the end of each race stage at pre-determined locations. Ultra Running will also provide an evening meal and breakfast at these camp-locations. It is requested that all of these facilities and the Relentless route itself, are respected and kept litter free by all competitors, family, friends or anybody else with an association with the race.

The organisers are more than happy to source alternative accommodation such as B&B or hotel, subject to availability and cost at any of the camp locations for any family member or supporter who wishes to attend the event.
